Beginners Guide to Golf from UK Golf Academy
“FORE” Means duck a ball is coming your way, or you shout it if your ball is close to hitting another golfer. This is something to be aware of on the course at all times.
Golf is a great game, sometimes rewarding, often frustrating but highly addictive. Getting started is actually not difficult, and hopefully this information can help you avoid some of the pitfalls and point you in the direction of a lifetime of fun (and frustration).
We at UK Golf Academy have listed information to help accelerate you in the right direction and wish you all the best wherever you learn and play golf, if we can be of any help guiding you through please feel free to forward your questions to us - if we can help we will be glad to.
Getting Started, Swing in The Right Direction:-
Lessons
Our first piece of advice for beginners would be to approach a Professional coach even before buying any equipment.
Your local golf course will have a resident Professional on site. If you have a golf driving range close by you will have more flexibility in taking your lessons as they are mostly floodlit and are open late, driving ranges tend to have full time coaches at them and being under cover the weather will not affect your booking.
Once you have found a PGA Golf Professional and have taken your first golf lesson, you will have a good idea if golf is the game for you. We would recommend you take a course of lessons if you are a beginner, as this will accelerate your golf in the right direction.
